Bournemouth airport spotting

Bournemouth airport spotting

Whilst it doesn’t have the variation of Heathrow, Bournemouth airport does allow you a lot closer to the action, it’s very easy to park at the prime locations on both westerly and Easterly operations, I must say I prefer the Eastern end of Bournemouth as you can get great photos from a field just behind the runway and they’re in view for a good amount of time. This last year has seen a massive amount of movements we were treated with British Airways storing planes at Bournemouth during the 1st lockdown with B747’s including the landor a host of A321’s A320’s and A319’s including the beautiful BAE livery British airways A319. Bournemouth also hosts a collection of ex Virgin Atlantic A340 aircraft which have been converted in to cargo planes making almost daily trips to China and New York. The China run has proved invaluable in transporting PPE from China for the NHS, these planes originally carried messages such as “thank you NHS” But now just carry European cargo instead but do retain 9H-NHS as the Reg. Bournemouth usual flights include, Ryanair, TUI both using B737’s and Easyjet operating A320’s and A319’s Ryanair will occasionally send a Lauda flight in to Bournemouth. The summer also hosted a surprise visitor a B767 Azur whilst only spending one night on the ground was a welcome addition, the other thing Bournemouth is noted for is military

movements Lockheed’s and the occasional globemaster
